Swingtime Big Band: Swing Into Spring

Hailed by Newsday as "Long Island's leading professional big band...dedicated to the Great American Songbook," Swingtime Big Band makes their Landmark debut with a swingin' celebration of spring! This exciting and energetic 20-piece Swing-era jazz ensemble has performed five times at Lincoln Center's Midsummer Night Swing, vividly bringing to life the timeless music of the greatest Big Bands and classics from the Great American Songbook.

With the arrival of spring, Swingtime celebrates the earth's re-awakening with a fun new show, featuring music from iconic bands such as Count Basie, Glenn Miller, Harry James, Tommy Dorsey, Woody Herman, Stan Kenton, and Les Brown. Plus, Swingtime's two entertaining vocalists will salute some of the greatest singers of our lifetime, with 'gal vocalist' Bobbie Ruth featured in a 100th birthday tribute to Judy Garland and Doris Day, and Zack Alexander honoring the immortal Frank Sinatra.
